P-Type cells

« Back to Glossary Index

P-Type cells are made of a p-type semiconductor material, typically silicon.

This material has been doped with an element like boron, which gives it extra free electrons.

The extra free electrons make it easier for current to flow through the material.

P-type solar cells are often used in conjunction with n-type solar cells to create a more efficient solar cell.
