Energy Star is a label that can be found on electrical appliances such as computers, TVs and refrigerators. It is part of the EnergyGuide label system which was introduced in 1992 by the US Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) to help consumers identify energy efficient products while shopping for new items or replacements.
